Summer Buckeye Trail 50K

  |   less than 1 minute read

A few of us have sent in our apps for the summer edition of the Buckeye Trail 50K. From a previous runner:

It used to always be the final Saturday in July, but they bumped it up a bit to allow recovery time prior to Burning River.  The course is an out and back, with the majority of the run being on single track.  it’s rolling, with many roots to hop over/step on.  Be prepared for mud…in the last four years, I’ve seen dry conditions once…and that was a fluke!  There will be a total of five aid stations, so definitely plan on carrying a water bottle on a humid July day.

You’ll have a blast!  The folks who run the event have great volunteers, and they go out of their way to take care of the runners.

Update: a race report I found:
steelejared (Northwest Athletic Forum): “…the course has some brutal hills and there is no way to avoid walking many of the steep climbs. there are even several sets of stairs. I counted 82 steps on one climb…”
